In 2013 at its 68th session, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) proclaimed 2015 as the International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies (IYL2015) to recognise the importance of light-based technologies in meeting the needs of humankind.
The International Light Association (ILA) 2015 annual conference will be held in Tallinn, Estonia between 30th April and 3rd May 2015. The conference is open to members and non-members.
A conference in tribute to the work of Dr Guy Bérard, developer of Auditory Integration Training (AIT) will be held at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Heathrow Hotel on 21 - 22 March 2015.

It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you all of the passing of Dr Guy Bérard at his home in Annecy, France. He was 98.
The father of the Bérard method of Auditory Integration Training, he was a mentor & dear friend.
The 11th Annual Conference of the International Light Association (ILA) entitled “Life and Light Cycles” will be held in Haifa, Israel between 17-22 September 2014.
The conference is open to members and non-members and ILA Membership attracts many benefits including a significant reduction in cost of conference registration.
We are delighted that once again we have been invited this year to provide our therapies for another Mencap Outreach Programme. We will be based at Centre 21 in Douglas from w/c 27 July 2015 for approximately three and a half weeks.

For the fourth time in five years Manx Mencap have invited us to provide an Outreach Programme at Centre 21 in Douglas, Isle of Man. As well as hosting us they have also funded a large number of participants. We would like to thank Manx Mencap for their support and to those very special people who have helped us put this Outreach program together.
The Sound Learning Centre recently completed an Outreach Programme at the Baity Montessori Center in Cairo, Egypt, where we provided AIT, LWS as well as Neuro Developmental Assessments & Programmes. This was a long time in the planning but all the hard work put in by everyone is finally showing how worthwhile it was as we have already received positive feedback from a number of people.
Today is the 2nd International Bérard Day. It is also the great man's 97th birthday.

The Sound Learning Centre's SenseAbility course for parents and carers are held regularly throughout the year. We are running a two day version of this popular course, in June, which gives a comprehensive introduction on the role of the senses and movement in a child's development and practical knowledge on how educational problems can be combated.
Initiated by the United Nations, the 2nd April is annually observed as World Autism Awareness Day in an effort to draw attention to Autism, a pervasive disorder that affects tens of millions around the globe. It is intended to spur global action to combat the discrimination, abuse and isolation that people with the disorder and their loved ones face.

Our experience shows that our clients have experienced improvements in social, emotional, behavioural or academic performance following our sensory therapies.
