Sound therapy helps to re-educate the auditory system and, although independent research assessments have not been carried out to validate its effectiveness, the Society of Auditory Integration Techniques (SAIT) has published its own theories, and the findings of Dr Bérard, creator of AIT, are cited from his book Hearing Equals Behavior, to illustrate his success in treating ENT patients with dyslexia, depression and autism.
