The Recorded-Voice Programme
The Recorded-Voice Programme is a learning method which uses recordings of the client’s own voice to help with listening, memory, speaking, reading, writing, spelling, numeracy and sequencing difficulties. The learning material is modelled by the tutor, repeated by the learner and then recorded. The learner works with these recordings at home and it has been found that the stimulus of one’s own voice is a particularly powerful aid to learning. It is suitable for children as well as adults and has also been found to be beneficial as a rehabilitation aid after strokes.
The Recorded-Voice programme aims to address literacy problems through this specially developed technique in which the individual listens to his or her own voice whilst completing precision spelling and voice recording of factually related topics. In addition they may be required to listen to and read material in book form.
