Middle East Outreach Programme

General

We currently have outreach programmes in Scotland, Ireland and the Middle East and we also travel to treat groups in other parts of the U.K. and abroad. On this page we outline various options in this respect and we would be pleased to hear from you if you are considering such a programme.

Client programmes

Much like at our Centre in London we can provide assessments and treatments in other locations.

Treatments must be preceded by an Assessment, normally a Standard Assessment. We are able to offer three Standard Assessments per working day.

Treatments normally consist of combined Auditory Integration Training (AIT) and Lightwave Stimulation (LWS), with optional Neuro-developmental and Self-Voice programmes. A single set of AIT and LWS equipment can normally cater for up to six clients.

Although we are able to travel away from the Centre for individuals or any size of group, an effective number is six clients, which can be assessed over two days, followed by ten days of treatment.  Where clients are able to complete the formal tests, the final assessments will add one or two more days. The total programme duration is thus between 12 and 14 days.

Larger groups can be catered for by increasing the sets of equipment and by ensuring sufficient treatment staff are in attendance.

Other local programme options

In addition to treating clients, we can offer a number of other services during the same period which may enhance the overall programme. We are able to offer the following:

bullet

Talks to special interest groups, such as parent support groups, schools, expatriate organisations.

bullet

Conference presentations.

bullet

Training courses – SenseAbility and EASIE.

Support

In order to assist local groups in their liaison with potential clients we are able to offer printed literature, DVD's (PAL or NTSC) and e-mail and webpage support. Please contact us for further details.

Logistics

The following key requirements need to be taken into account:

bullet

Travel time allowance, plus a short period of acclimatisation for locations farther afield.

bullet

Equipment shipping. As our equipment is in constant use, this normally requires shipping by air for locations abroad.

bullet

Assessment and treatment rooms. The room requirements will depend on the number of participants and the agreed time-scale of the programme, but normally at least two rooms are required to cater for both the assessments, including possible interim and final assessments, and the treatments. More rooms make for more comfortable and efficient working conditions.

bullet

Accommodation for the staff of The Sound Learning Centre.

Costs

The basis of our fees for outreach programmes are our Standard Fees for Assessments and Therapeutic Programmes, plus reimbursements for costs of travel, shipping and subsistence. Obviously the pro-rata costs for individuals or small groups will be greater than that for larger groups and adding additional services to the overall programme, such as Neuro-developmental and Self-Voice home programmes or training courses will make outreach programmes more viable. Outreach programmes can be financially more advantageous than visiting London, as there are no costs for travel and accommodation for the participants. Furthermore having the assessments and treatments provided locally is normally more convenient and can substantially reduce any possible stress or anxiety for participants.

Next steps

If you are interested in an outreach programme in your location, simply contact us, so that we can discuss how to get the ball rolling.
